Jimmy Johnstone, Celtic's greatest ever player, died in March 2006 after a courageous battle with Motor Neurone disease. Billy McNeill described his admiration for the way in which Jinky handled his illness, since he was diagnosed in November 2001.

A Faberge egg produced in honour of the late Celtic star Jimmy Johnstone could fetch up to £20,000 when it goes up for auction in Edinburgh next month.
Football shirts worn by David Beckham and George Best and an Olympic torch will also be on sale.
Money raised from the egg sale will go to motor neurone disease charities.

Celtic Football Club today unveiled a memorial statue in honour of the magnificent Jimmy Johnstone, the man voted the club’s Greatest Ever Player.
The stunning statue, positioned at the main entrance to Celtic Park will be a lasting tribute to Jimmy, a man who the club is so proud to have as one of its favourite sons.

Footballing veterans, family and friends yesterday joined forces to launch an appeal to raise funds for a memorial to Celtic legend Jimmy "Jinky" Johnstone in his home town.
They plan to honour the Lisbon Lions winger with a statue in the Viewpark area of Uddingston, where he was born and raised.
